Optimism
This publication accompanied (but does not document) the 2008 group show Optimism: The Art of Our Time at 133 Copeland Rd. A series of salons were organised at which was discussed the idea of optimism as a motivating ideology for our time. That these meetings took place in the weeks succeeding the fall of Lehman Brothers only added to their sense of timeliness, and the discussions that arose were written up by the editors and included as addenda. The book brings together sixteen treatments of the subject of optimism - ranging from essays to short stories - illustrated by a series of collages by Edward Wallace.
Edited by Alan Murrin and Benjamin Eastham. 88pp, full colour, paperback. Sold Out
